Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration

I presented my co-authored research paper, “Global Internet Connectedness: 2002-2011,” to the 8th Annual International Conference on Combinatorial Optimization and Applications (COCOA’14) held in Maui, Hawaii, from December 19-21, 2014. Based on network and computational approaches, it was one of the several network analysis-focused papers presented at the conference.

This conference reinforced the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration. Most of the participants in the conference were computer scientists, and yet many of the papers dealt with issues that have particular relevance for social and behavioral science research. And I had very productive conversations with many participants and identified opportunities for future collaborations.
